Cool link, James. I have to admit I had no idea that proteins could be knotted like that - I wonder how they get that way? This is also a great example of how function and structure are linked. More times than not a "weird" structure has some functional relevance.

James I really loved that post. It is so amazing how the body can react and adapt to evolve. It makes you wonder if we ever had proteins without knots at all. Maybe in early humans there were no knots in any proteins. It would probably explain why no one ever lived past 30 years old or so. There bodies did not have complex proteins making their immune system weaker. Just a though I suppose. Anyway sweet article, see you tomorrow.
