We're trying to protect a run down here in NJ, and have run across a statement that alewives spawn only on the new or full moon. Sounds fishy to me and we can find nothing in the literature. Today I was creating a map/placemat for an upcoming "Fairytale Ball" where our book will come full circle at Ocean Beach, as it is featured with other children's books for a Children's Museum benefit! A conversation with a friend from Cape Cod serendipitously brought up the "Alewife Movement" which took me to google and now YOU!
